PARENT TEACHER ORGANIZATION (PTO)

The role of the PTO is funding all the athletic teams including middle school boys and girls and Grasshopper teams. It pays for the majority of the field trips and supplemental classroom literature, assists with the state-mandated student reward programs, funds school band activities and performs school projects.

POTTERY by Rick Bisgyer - Ridgetop Pottery

Create your own pottery while learning the fundamentals of hand building, wheel throwing and glazing clay vessels.

Minimum age: 12

Class size: 4 in each of the two classes

Dates: Afternoon 2-5 pm or evening class 6-9 pm Tuesdays June 14 - August 2

Fee: $232.00 including eight classes, open studio hours, materials and student tool set.

BASKETRY by Shelia Brown - Baskets by Shelia

Learn the basics of basket weaving while you create a lovely personalized Market Basket. This basket will measure 12"x18"x5" with a 10" handle. You will be asked to bring a few household items to aid in constructing the basket, but all weaving materials will be provided. A short pre-class meeting will be arranged with participants to distribute materials and homework instructions!

Minimum age: 14

Class size: 12

Dates: 6-9 pm Monday, July 11 and Wednesday July 13

FELT APPLIQUE by Donna Lohr - Whimsical Woolies

Create a framed felt sun with personality! Learn how to use a pattern, thread needles, sew basic applique stitches, sew on buttons and other embellishments. Finished art will be mounted and framed in a black wooden frame suitable for standing or hanging.

Ages: 6-12

Class size: 4-6

FELTING by Rachel Rerek - Whigmaleerie

Learn the basics of three-dimensional needle felting such as: creating basic shapes, blending colors and surface decoration. Leave the class with the tools and knowledge to create your own, one of a kind, needle felted sculptures and a finished project.
